Hi everyone!

The new trend edition from Essence is on the horizon! It will be available on the shelves from December 2010 and it’s called Fairytale. As you can imagine this collection sparkles a lot :) In the collection there are as usual the nail polishes, eye shadows, lip glosses and eyeliners. I made some swaches of polishes, lip glosses and eyeliners :) I have to say that I really like the design on the packaging – fairies, butterflies and flowers.

******

POLISHES: there are six polishes in this collection. Polishes are sparkling and they have shimmery foil-like finish. When I saw the promo picture I wasn’t exited about any shade. They just didn’t seem special but when I tried them on, I liked at least three of them. The formula is ok, I didn’t have any problems with application.

Fairy Berry: is a warm toned purple color with a lot of silver shimmer, which gives the polish that foil finish. Two coats are needed for full coverage. On the index finger is Essence Bubble Bubble from Into The Ocean TE.

Humpty Dumpty: this one is one of my favorites. It’s gray color with splash of purple and with loads of silver shimmer. I love it! It takes two coats for full coverage.

Once Upon A Time: this one is the only one that doesn’t have a foil-like finish. It’s medium red jelly base with red and gold glitter that give the polish a lot of depth. It’s similar to China Glaze Ruby Pumps but it’s not a dupe. It’s opaque in two coats.

Pixie Dust: nude color with hint of pink and a lot of silver shimmer. It’s nice, subtle polish which is opaque in three coats.

Tinka’s Dress: peachy orange color with silver shimmer. Another nice and soft shade which is opaque in three coats.

Welcome To The Wonderland: is a light lavender color with a lot of silver shimmer. I like this one on my nails. Needs three coats for full coverage.

LIP GLOSSES: there are three lip glosses in Fairytale collection.
Fairy berry: light purple base with purple shimmer
Once Upon a time: red jelly color
Pixie Dust: clear base with multicolor shimmer

Hi!

I love Catrice polishes! They apply flawlessly and they are extremely long lasting, so there are no chips the very next day ;) The color range is big and anyone can find something suitable for themselves. Today I will show you the Catrice Lost In Mud which is medium brown creamy color with splash of gray. After applying a top coat this one becomes even more brownish. It’s opaque in two coats.

Catrice Lost In Mud:

I was in a good mood today so I’ve done some Konading. I used Konad image plate m75 and the Konad special polish in Apple Green color. I also added the Essence flower shaped rhinestones.

Hi!

Yesterday I felt so uninspired. I stared at all my polishes for about half an hour and not a single one looked interesting enough. This was my 3rd try to make something worth showing. At first I tried something with gold and black combination – didn’t work out, then I did some layering and it was no-no. After that I made another Konad failure. At the end I put on the Essence Zulu from Into The Wild collection and done the Konad with Barry M Vivid Purple and image plate m65. I still don’t like this manicure on my nails, but I guess it’s one of those days when there is no polish that will satisfy me. :)

Do you like chocolate? I love it! :D The Nubar Swiss Chocolate polish is perfect warm medium brown chocolate color. This one really makes me crave for chocolate. It takes two coats for full coverage.

Nubar Swiss Chocolate:

I decided to make truffles out of my already chocolate colored nails. I used Essence Iced Chai Latte, China Glaze Ingrid and NYX ink nail art pens in black and white. It didn’t turn out as I expected but here are the pictures anyway:

Have a nice day! :)

Yaaaay! I got the polishes from the Essence Metallics collection! :D OMG, OMG!! Why are they so special? Four of them are magnetic!

The only thing I have to criticize is the Essence magnet :/ It’s sucks! It’s not strong enough and it’s really hard to get close to the polish, without touching it with the magnet. You will have even more problems if you have very curvy nails. Here is the result with the Essence magnet on the color wheel:

******

I’ve done all the swaches of the magnetic polishes with Alessandro magnet :)

Copper Rulez! is my favorite from this collection. It’s gorgeous even without the magnet effect. It’s dark warm brown base with a lot of bigger orange and golden shimmer. It’s really a perfect color for the autumn.

Iron Goddess: here you can see the difference between Alessandro and the Essence magnet. I used the Essence magnet only on my index finger. The color of this polish is medium brown with silver shimmer.

Metal Battle: this is the only polish in the collection that is not magnetic. Its black base with blue shimmer.

Nothing Else Metals: is some kind of washed out golden olive color with silver highlights when you apply the magnet pattern. It looks nice and it goes well with my complexion.

Steel Me: this polish is a lot thicker than the others in the collection. It’s shimmery silver color with darker stripes when the magnet pattern is applied.

My boyfriend had a suggestion to try with these polishes – the Buckyballs (little magnets). I tried it on Nothing Else Metals and Alessandro Wild Purple. The pattern that came out is really nice :D It looks like some kind of grid or snake/alligator skin. The Buckyballs are so strong that you don’t even have to hold them very close to the polish.

In the Metallics collection there are also lipsticks and jumbo eye pencils.

And here are the swaches of the jumbo eye pencils:

What do you think about this collection? I think that Essence did a really good job this time by releasing the magnetic polishes. They are still cheap and the finishing look is chic and modern. I’m sure that very soon more companies will start making such magnetic polishes :)

Today I have for you Catrice Sold Out For Ever. Sold Out For Ever is light green pastel mint shade with a lot of fine shimmer, which is a slightly darker than the base.

Catrice Sold Out For Ever:

I have done the Konad with Essence dark green polish – Jungle and with the image plate m65. I also added a fimo lime on the ring finger.

Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream is lighter pastel blue color. It looks like clear blue sky. It’s opaque in two coats. I really don’t know how I fell about this color on me.

Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream:

I did a simple and quick, but still nice manicure with the dotting tool. I used the following polishes: Essence Deep Blue Sea (dark blue), Essie Blanc (white), China Glaze Millennium (silver) and Color Club Take Me To Your Chateau (light blue). Here is the result:

Hi!

Here is something blue for you :) . Essence Just Rock It! is dark blue creamy shade and it takes only one coat for full coverage!

Essence Just Rock It!:

I put one coat of Nfu Oh 54 over it and the manicure came out looking gorgeous. It looks like islands in the middle of the sea. Nfu Oh 54 is jelly blue transparent base with turquoise/blue flakes.

Another beautiful color from Barry M polishes – it’s called Pure Turquoise. Cream blue shade with a splash of green. This one is more on the blue side of color palette. It applies nicely and it’s opaque in two coats.

Barry M Pure Turquoise:

I added one layer of Essence Glisten Up!, which is sheer light blue base, with turquoise-blue-green flakes and micro shimmer. I think this polish would look better on darker base.

Barry M Baby Pink polish is light cream pink color. It gives very nice, soft and girly look. It’s opaque in two coats. I have to tell you, that I’m really impressed with how easy the Barry M polishes apply to the nails. The second thing I like is how they dry in high glossy look – as if the top coat was already on.

Barry M Baby Pink:

I decided to do a funky pattern with Konad. I used Essence Black Stampy polish for konading and Konad image plate m57. I took dotting tool and added some dots in leopard pattern with China Glaze For Audrey and Lemon Fizz polishes.

Bye! Lyra*
